J B Industries manufactures Transparent Zinc via the precipitation process resulting in very high surface area compared to zinc oxide from the French process. The Precipitation step is carefully controlled to yield fine particles of zinc carbonate with high dispersal characteristics.
J B Industries Transparent Zinc is used in low dosage compared to traditional zinc oxide from the French process. Due to its high surface area, the resulting physical properties are better. The product is the same as Transparent Zinc Oxide marketed by Lanxess.
Usage
- As an activator to initiate the rubber accelerators to begin the vulcanization process. It cross-links the polymer to provide better mechanical properties.
- Transparent Zinc due to its fine particle size is easy to disperse in compounds and shortens the vulcanization cycle thus reducing power and labour costs.
- Transparent Zinc being more soluble than zinc oxide in rubber is the desired activator for latex products like gloves, balloons, condoms and similar articles. It reduces pinholes in them and also provides shine and transparency to finished products.
- Usage of Transparent Zinc at 70% of Zinc oxide gives you desirable product qualities. Considerable savings are obtained by lower usage of Transparent Zinc.
